Environmental Stewardship

Environmental Stewardship at D’Arcy Ranch

At D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club, environmental stewardship is one of the core elements in everything we do. In January 2013, we proudly achieved designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP). At the time, D’Arcy Ranch became the 17th golf course in Alberta and the 1,006th in the world to earn this distinction.

A Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary

Today, more than 2,200 golf courses worldwide participate in the program, with approximately 1,000 achieving full certification, placing D’Arcy Ranch among a select group of facilities committed to the highest environmental standards.

The Audubon Program

The Audubon program provides a framework for golf courses to protect natural resources while enhancing the playing experience. Certification is earned through demonstrated excellence in six key areas:

  • Environmental Planning
  • Wildlife and Habitat Management
  • Water Conservation
  • Water Quality Management
  • Chemical Use Reduction and Safety
  • Outreach and Education

Our Commitment

Our commitment to the environment extends beyond our initial certification. The decisions we make through every department at D’Arcy Ranch involve environmental sustainability.

As part of the ACSP for Golf, courses are required to undergo recertification every three years. This process includes either an on-site evaluation by a certified auditor or the submission of a comprehensive case study for review. We are proud to have successfully achieved recertification four times. Demonstrating our ongoing dedication to environmental excellence.

At D’Arcy Ranch, we believe that exceptional golf and responsible environmental practices go hand in hand. By prioritizing the health of our natural surroundings, we deliver an outstanding golf experience while preserving the landscape for future generations of golfers.”
