Michael Roberts

Michael Roberts brings more than 30 years of experience in the golf industry to D’Arcy Ranch, along with a deep-rooted commitment to the people and the place itself.

He started in golf at just 14 years old, working in turfcare at Lakeside Golf Club in Chestermere. What began as a student job quickly turned into a career—one built outdoors, hands-on, and grounded in a genuine appreciation for the game. Since joining D’Arcy Ranch in 2008, Michael has continued to grow into a leadership role shaped by both experience and mentorship.

His approach is simple: just care.

It’s a mindset that shows up in everything—from long-term planning and operations to the small, everyday details that often go unnoticed. Whether it’s maintaining the course, supporting staff, or shaping the future of the facility, Michael approaches the work with a sense of ownership and responsibility.

He credits much of his development to the people he’s worked alongside over the years, as well as the values instilled by his family—hard work, consistency, and a strong sense of loyalty.

What Michael values most about D’Arcy Ranch is the people. He believes that when a team feels supported and takes pride in what they do, it naturally creates a better experience for everyone who walks through the doors.

Outside of the course, Michael has spent over two decades officiating hockey at the AHL and WHL levels. When he’s not working or on the ice, he enjoys spending time with his family—often out in Radium, BC, where things slow down and time is spent together.

Meet The Ownership

Clyde D’Arcy

D’Arcy Ranch didn’t start as a golf course.

It started as a piece of land where Clyde D’Arcy grew up learning things the hard way—on a working quarter horse farm, with an arena out back and a bush track where horses ran fast and didn’t always run straight. Days started early. Nothing was handed to you. You figured it out or you didn’t.

“Learning to drive, first job, first beer, first time shooting a rifle and shotgun… working beside adult men of the land—cowboys, farmers. Getting bucked off too many times to count. Learning to rope, horsemanship, horse shows, bush track horse racing… riding in the Stampede Parade. Learning to work hard.”

People came and went through that land long before there were tee times or scorecards. They’d drop in, pull up a chair in the arena, and stay longer than they planned to—talking, laughing, drinking what Clyde still calls “vile” instant coffee out of Styrofoam cups.

“While it was a working ranch, everyday people dropped in… I’ve watched Okotoks evolve for 65 of my 75 years.”

Clyde left for a time—built a career, raised a family—but like most places that shape you early, this one never really let go.

“I returned nearly every year… then full-time in 2016. Labor Day weekend 1995 was my first return with my 10-month-old triplet children. The golf course was up and running by then. As the kids grew up, our visits became significantly longer and more frequent.”

By then, the land had changed. The horses made way for fairways. The track turned into something new. But underneath it, not much was different. It was still a place where people came to be together. Still a place where you could get your first job, learn how to work, and figure out who you are.

“We see the golf course continuing to be a first job for kids—teaching work ethic, leadership, and responsibility.”

Now, with the next chapter taking shape, Clyde and his sister Rebecca are adding to what’s always been here without trying to dress it up into something it’s not. And if you catch him out there late in the day, when the wind settles and the light starts to stretch across the land, you’ll see what he’s always seen. Because at the end of it all, this place was about more than just racetracks and fairways.

It’s about the land.
The people.
And the kind of life that leaves a mark on you long after you’ve left it.

Rebecca Wyatt

While her brother Clyde remained closely tied to the history of the land, Rebecca D’Arcy Wyatt followed a different path.

An entrepreneur and creative professional, Rebecca has spent much of her career building businesses centered around the arts, music, and community engagement. In 2016, she relocated to Savannah, Georgia, where she and her son, Adam Wyatt, established ArtStryngs Gallery and Suntone Recording Studio—spaces dedicated to supporting artists, musicians, and creative collaboration.

Rebecca brings a different perspective to D’Arcy Ranch—one shaped by creativity, hospitality, and a belief that great spaces should bring people together. Her interest lies not in preserving the past for its own sake, but in helping ensure the property continues to evolve in meaningful ways for future generations.

The development of The Stables reflects that vision. As a gathering place designed around connection, entertainment, and community, it represents Rebecca’s contribution to the next chapter of D’Arcy Ranch.

Today, she remains actively involved in the ownership and long-term stewardship of the property, helping guide its future while respecting the values that have allowed it to endure for generations.
